Looking To Sell Your Timeshares
DON'T GET SCAMMED Thinking of Selling Your Timeshare? Read This First!!
Looking to sell your timeshare Do Not And I Repeat Do Not deal with Resort Equity Marketing ( R E M ). Unlike myself do your homework first rather than later.
Check the Better Business Bureau first, R E M is not accredited. The BBB also warns to be wary of advertising companies which lead you to believe they are a real estate co. but request a deposit up front to advertise your property.
Next go to google and type in ( Resort Equity Marketing Reviews )and see what you get.
Funny How You Think Of These Things After You Have Been Screwed.
Sure they talk a terrific game until they get your permission to charge your credit card. Within 1 day our credit card was charged $995.00. This was Jan. 28, 2009 as of Feb 10 no one will contact us! When I call nobody can help us or some baloney about their data base is down today. BUT NO REFUND on our credit card.
We had notified REM well within the ten days of the contract date as stated on their cancellation request. We had never signed their contract or the credit card receipt they mailed to us.
We have since filed a credit card dispute and we will have to wait and see how this turns out.
Check back often for UPDATES and we will keep you posted!!
UPDATE Well we did finally get a refund to our credit card from REM. Now we have been getting calls from Timeshare Goldline as well as several others telling us they have some crazy high offer, all we have to do is pay this fee or that fee up front. Forget It, Not Happening. I would rather donate it than chance paying these scam artists up front fees. For more info check out the Timeshare Users Group website below. Please be very careful of wiesels like this who take your money in a heartbeat but seem to have a problem with refunds.
If you own a timeshare sooner or later you will get a call to try to get you to sell it. If the person on the other end happens to be Bradley James hang up and run like hell but quick!!!
UPDATE 6/25/10 Contacted by another "Timeshare Salesperson" who just happens to have a family all preapproved to buy my timeshare for $36,000 all I have to do is send them $1800 for some BS fees and were all set. SURE Let me get that credit card right out for you!!! Think, why would someone pay me $36,000 for a timeshare I bought 4 years ago for $20,000. Did timeshare prices suddenly go through the roof when I was sleeping? When I offered to sell this lady my timeshare for $12,000 telling her to turn it over and make herself a quick and easy 24,000 she didn't want to talk anymore and ended our conversation. Haven't heard a word from her since.
Timeshare Users Group
My wife and I do own a timeshare at the Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort at Cocoa Beach, Fl. We are interested in selling without being screwed with some crazy up front fee. If anyone is interested feel free to contact us below with any questions or offers. The unit is 2 br 2 bath and is in the building next to their own water park. I'll get some pictures up in the near future. Don't get me all wrong here I'm not against timeshares as we did trade off our week at Cocoa Beach for a week in St Maarten through RCI. This worked out very well for us. The best thing I find with timeshares is it kind of makes you take a vacation to use your week. For us this works because we only have to drive a couple of hours to Cocoa Beach. If it was not for these economic conditions we now live in I probably would not even consider selling, but as we all know some of us are having a tougher time paying the essential bills never mind our luxury timeshare vacation for a week.
With all the difficulty in trying to sell a timeshare, and all the scams out there these days, as well as being lucky enough to get between 30-50 percent of the original purchase price, we have decided to try to help. If anyone is trying to sell their timeshare with no luck we would be glad to list it here for a small fee of $5.00 per month, no commission, no upfront fees, no hidden cost or fees. If someone contacts us about your time share we will pass on your e-mail or tel.# that is it. I want no further involvement in your sale. No contracts, or obligations ever.If you would like to try a listing here just contact us below. Write a short description about your timeshare and a couple of photos if you like and your contact information and we will contact you. If anyone knows of a legit way to find a buyer and sell your timeshare and would like to share, please send in any information below.
Learn More About RCI
Remember when you bought your timeshare and your salesperson showed you the RCI directory? You were led to believe that all you had to do was deposit your week, request where you want to go and you would be instantly confirmed to stay in a beautifully appointed villa in a 5 star resort.
What you have found is that you can't get anything you want! You called your resort and got no help there. You called RCI and all they said was to request more in advance.
