my initial contact person at REM was Mike Smith 1.866.967.0137 but he bumped me up to a fast talking high pressure manager, not sure of his name now.
Their phone pitch goes like this: REM has a booth at a big convention center in town (Orlando) where due to the amount of traffic they can easily get my points rented out as weeks to visiting companies who come there year after year or several times a year. Or they can optionally get a sale of my ownership in total.
I had enough BlueGreen points that they would rent 10 weeks for me at $3,000.00 each.
Initially they asked for $2,000 up front on credit card to get started and said that they had no problem getting immediate results, but guarantted rental results in 30 to 60 days, or an owership sale in 180 days.
After some discussion, they wanted $1,000.00 on credit card today and, will mail contract to be signed, plus they wanted another $1,000.00 out of proceeds of first rental after they get a contract from a company to use my week.
I told them I would not do that on first call, and wanted 24 hrs. to consider it. I called them back the next day and told them I would work with them but only on a payment for results basis. They produce results, and then they get paid. Plus I was willing to pay more that way, but only after results. That stopped their calls.
