Falmouth Ma
Falmouth Ma includes th villages of Woods Hole,
E.Falmouth, Hatchville, N Falmouth, W Falmouth,
Waquiot, and Teaticket and is probably most famous
for the Falmouth Road Race. Don't forget about the
Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League,
for a evening of great family entertainment, and
it is free! There is also the Cape Cod Country
Club for those with golf in mind.
From Falmouth you can take the ferry and enjoy
a day trip to Martha's Vineyard if you like or
maybe you prefer a day at the beach as they have
several, Surf Drive Beach in Falmouth, Menauhant
Beach in East Falmouth and Old Silver Beach in
North Falmouth are some of the best. Falmouth is
also a great area for windsurfing, and as with
all of Cape Cod offers some great fishing.
Located in Hatchville is the Francis Crane Widlife
Reservation, open for horseback riding, bird watching,
walking and hiking as well as the Ashumet Holly Wildlife
Sanctuary for the bird lovers.
Woods Hole is home to the Marine Biological Laboratory,
also the Steamship Authority is here with ferrys running
to Martha's Vineyard along with the Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution as well as the Woods Hole Science Aquarium.
While in Falmouth be sure not to miss Nobska Lighthouse,
and the Woods Hole Historical Museum, and if you happen to
be in Falmouth in mid July there is also the Barnstable
County Fair for a fun filled day.
For accomodations Falmouth offers it all from B & B's,
motels, to resorts with spa treatment. Dining in the area
also varies from pizza to clam shack to fine dining,
seafood to steak it's all here.
