Cape Cod Travel Tips
Some of the best Cape Cod Travel Tips I can give is to make your
reservations for hotel, motel, cottage, inn, bed & breakfast
as early as possible as Cape Cod is pretty much sold out with
few exceptions during peak season (mid June - Labor Day).
July 4th weekend without reservations, pretty much
forget it. You will be doing a lot of sitting in
traffic with no place to go.
One exception would be to wait till the last
possible minute then check Hot Wire, if there
is availabilty you would be more likely to
get a great rate as we did ($92.00 per night).
This would only work if you are flexable to
what is available and where.
For those who drive to Cape Cod try to avoid
getting on the cape on Friday evening or
off cape late Sunday afternoon as you will
get more than a little frustrated with the
traffic.
I would also recommend a GPS as a nice little extra
travel companion, though not a necessity a very handy
little gadget.
I would also recomend getting to your Cape Cod
daily travel destination (ex. Provincetown waterfront)
early morning for the best parking as the lots fill up
fast. Expect to pay $10-$15 to park for the day. Best
idea is to tote your bikes along, unload once parked
and bike around the area or to the beach, harbor cruises,
museums, ect. Bike rentals are also available in most
of the busy villages.
There is also trolley tours in most cape towns and
villages. Whatever your preference enjoy as there is
plenty to see and do, just be sure to allow yourself
enough time as most villages of Cape Cod tend need
more than one day to take it all in.
Don't forget your camera!!!
