Orleans
Nauset Beach
Nauset Beach on the Atlantic coast of
Orleans is easily one of the largest, most
popular and most beautiful beaches on Cape Cod.
With a stretch of large sand dunes, this wide
sandy beach is popular with teens, young adults,
families, and locals alike. Beachgoers enjoy
swimming and surfing in the cool water of the
Atlantic Ocean. Surfcasting for striped bass
and bluefish is also a favorite pastime. While
sitting in your beach chair you may notice the
occasional seal head popping up in the water.
Skaket Beach
Popular Skaket Beach is a great alternative
to Nauset Beach. The calm, warm waters are great for
swimming at high tide. At low tide beachcombers can
walk along tidal flats that stretch for miles.
Children love exploring the small pools of water left
at low tide, often finding small crabs and minnows
trapped in them. Skaket Beach faces directly west
across the bay, making it one of the best places to
catch a stunning sunset on the Cape. Lifeguards,
snack bar, restrooms, and showers are available here.

access to 4x4 vehicles with permit.
Provincetown
Race Point Beach
The perfect beach for all day sun!

stronger rip tides here stay on the side
of caution, but do enjoy this great sandy
beach. Keep one eye open as you may get a
glimpse of whale here. Parking costs $10

lifeguards, and showers.
Herring Cove Beach
The most popular beach in Provincetown,
this bayside beach waters are more calm ideal
for children and an enjoyable swim. No undertow
and water that is always warmer than at Race Point.
The right hand side of the beach is considered more
family oriented, while the left is more gay-friendly.
You may even see whales breaching or seals basking
in the sun. Stay until sunset for this is the place
to be for a spectacular view. The sunsets at Herring
Cove are the most breath taking on the entire Cape,
since the sun actually seems to set into the ocean.
