Bourne Ma

Bourne Ma, which includes the villages of Bournedale, Gray Gables, Buzzards Bay, Monument Beach, Cataumet, Sagamore, and Pocasset is the first town you will come to when you come to visit Cape Cod.

For those with a interest in the history of the Cape Cod Canal we suggest stopping by the canal visitors center located at 60 Ed Moffitt Drive in Sandwich, as they offer a video presentation of the canal's history. With the Cape Cod Canal cutting its way thru Bourne, one must cross over the Bourne Bridge or The Sagamore Bridge to continue traveling farther onto Cape Cod.

Some points of interest in Bourne are the Cape Cod Canal service roads which are approx 7 miles long and run on both sides of the canal. These service roads are are accessable for recreation activities to include walking, roller blading, and family bike rides, as well as fishing along the canal.

For those with a love for boats, bring your chair, a good book, and sun screen, find a nice spot along the canal and watch the boats, yachts, tugs and cargo ships as they pass by right in front of you. Don't forget your camera as this is a beautiful area for some very scenic photos.

For those with a love for baseball be sure to see a Bourne Braves game. The Braves are part of the Cape Cod Baseball League where you will see some of the best amature players in the country.

Camping in the canal area is offered at the Bourne Senic Park, which runs along side the canal as well as Scusset Beach Reservation. There is also hiking, biking, and swimming within the Scusset Beach Reservation. Be sure to stop and pay a visit as you enter Bourne Ma on your way to Cape Cod.
